TASMAN UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE
WHO ARE WE?
Tasman U3A is part of the Statewide network of the University of The Third Age, which is a global organisation.
Tasman U3A encourages members of the community to learn through attending (and even presenting), interesting, thought provoking and educational talks and courses. Everyone is welcome to attend. No qualifications are needed and there are no tests or exams! All you need to participate is an enquiring mind.
The yearly program is divided into two semesters with a break over winter. The program is a kaleidoscope of presentations by local and invited experts and a wide range of topics is covered each year.
Anyone interested in giving a presentation to U3A should contact Co-ordinator, Helen Stone, for inclusion in the program. If you have experienced an event or had an interesting career which you would like to share, we would be very happy to hear from you.
WHERE and WHEN Do We Meet?
Tasman U3A membership area is vast; it extends 50 Kilometres from Dunalley to Port Arthur and Nubeena on the Tasman Peninsula. Meetings are held at Taranna in the Taranna Community Centre, Gourlay Street (off Arthur Highway), Taranna 7180, unless otherwise indicated in the weekly program.
Meetings are held weekly during Semester Times (March to May, and September to December), on WEDNESDAY from 10am to 11.30am.
An additional programme has been added to the U3A timetable, Mah-jong. This will continue to be held at the Lufra Hotel at Eaglehawk Neck from 1pm to 2pm every Wednesday afternoon – everyone is welcome from beginners to seasoned players..
